Trekking Lao Than 2 days (2.860m)
Featured content
Located at an altitude of 2,860 meters, Lao Than Peak is considered the roof of Y Ty, offering a magical landscape where clouds, sun, and wind intertwine. The terraced fields remain lush and green, defying the harshness of the weather. The trekking route to Lao Than is relatively simple, making it easily conquerable even for first-time trekkers. This is because the terrain mainly consists of low grass hills, the distance is short, there is little climbing required, and the scenery is truly surreal, with layers of clouds stacked densely over the mountain, covering it completely.
Highlights
- The 14th highest mountain in Vietnam – Elevation: 2,860m.
- A swing at the mountain summit.

Detailed schedule
Trekking Lao Than 2 days (2.860m)
The “specialty” of Lao Than is its clouds. The experience of cloud hunting and watching the sunrise from the summit is the highlight of this trek. The peak offers an ultra-clear, panoramic view in all directions and is located at a prime spot, known as the “roof” of Y Ty, making the chances of encountering a sea of clouds extremely high. This is why Viettrekking has named Lao Than the “Island in the Sky,” with its villages nestled among the clouds.
The shared tour usually departs from Ha Noi on Friday night. For the exact weekly schedule, please contact Campviet.
Private tours can be arranged on any day of the week upon request, with different costs.
