The 1 day cultural and spiritual tour takes you away from the bustling city life to the tranquil and ancient land of Son Tay – Xu Doai. This journey is an opportunity to explore unique architectural works with strong historical imprints from the Ly Dynasty and the Nguyen Dynasty.

Duong Lam Ancient Village – Mia Pagoda – Son Tay Ancient Citadel – Khai Nguyen Pagoda
07:45 – 08:00: The bus and tour guide pick you up at hotels in the Old Quarter area and the Hanoi Opera House, then depart to visit:
✔ Khai Nguyen Pagoda in Son Tay (also known as Tan Vien Pagoda, officially Tan Vien Son Quoc Tu). The pagoda dates back to the Ly Dynasty in the early 11th century. Rebuilt on the original foundation and in the traditional architectural style, it was restored in 2008, maintaining a unique harmony of the ancient and the modern without disrupting its historical and spiritual value. Located in a peaceful countryside setting with a square pond, lush greenery, and blooming year-round, the pagoda offers a serene atmosphere for Buddhists and visitors alike.
✔ Son Tay Ancient Citadel was built in 1822 during the 3rd year of King Minh Mang’s reign. It is the only citadel in Vietnam constructed from laterite stone, featuring unique architecture such as laterite walls and four ancient brick gates. It is one of the few remaining citadels from the Minh Mang era, built to defend the northwest of Thang Long.
11:30: Lunch at a local restaurant and rest. In the afternoon, continue to visit:
✔ Duong Lam Ancient Village is a typical village of the Northern Delta. Walk through the ancient village gate, visit Mong Phu communal house, Ba Chua Mía shrine, and the temple of scholar Giang Van Minh. Stroll along the village paths, visit traditional ancient dwellings, and taste local specialties such as sticky rice wine and che lam (conventional sweet).
✔ Mia Pagoda – the pagoda with the most extensive collection of ancient Buddha statues in Vietnam.
17:00: Return to Hanoi. End of the tour. Farewell and see you again!

User manual
- Guests joining the tour must bring valid personal identification documents (ID card/Passport). Children under 14 years old must get a birth certificate. Children 14 years old and above must have an ID card or a Passport.
- Bringing medicine for diarrhea and the common cold/fever is recommended.
- Vegetarian guests are kindly requested to bring additional vegetarian food to ensure their taste preferences.
- Any service included in the tour that the guest does not use, and not due to the organizer’s fault, will not be refunded.
- The tour guide has the right to rearrange the order of sightseeing points according to the conditions of each departure day, provided that all the sightseeing points in the program are still guaranteed.
- In case the departure day has 10 guests or fewer, or in the case of traveling by 4–7–16-seat vehicles, the driver may also act as the tour guide. These drivers have extensive experience in leading tours.
- Customer responsibilities:
- Customers are responsible for their own health in all situations. Customers must inform the tour organizer of any personal medical conditions (if any) so they can receive further advice regarding health issues with each tour they register for.
- Customers must take care of their personal belongings in all situations and places throughout the trip. The tour organizer is not responsible for losing customers’ money, valuables, flight tickets, or personal property during the journey.
Refund / cancellation regulations
- Changing the departure date at least 03 days before the departure date: no penalty.
- Only one change of departure date is allowed; the following change will incur a 30% change fee.
- Cancellation at least 05 days before the departure date: 30% penalty.
- Cancellation 03 to 04 days before the departure date: 50% penalty.
- Cancellation 02 days before the departure date: 80% penalty.
- Cancellation 01 day before the departure date or No-Show: 100% penalty.
